BaT Auction: 214-Mile 2018 Ford GT

This 2018 Ford GT was ordered through Madera Ford in California and delivered new in October 2018 to the seller, a retired Ford chassis engineer. Finished in Shadow Black with Lightning Blue stripes, the car features a black “Dark Engery” interior and is powered by a mid-mounted, twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter V6 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle. Features include Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes, 20″ carbon fiber wheels, titanium lug nuts, butterfly doors, racing harness anchors, and an active rear wing. This Ford GT now has just 214 miles and is offered with its window sticker, accessories, build photos, promotional materials, car cover, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title in the seller’s name.

The design of the second-generation GT was overseen by Chris Svensson, and the car was debuted at the 2015 North American Auto Show. Production began in December 2016 at Multimatic’s assembly facility in Ontario, Canada. Each car features a lightweight Gorilla Glass windshield, rear diffuser, retractable active rear wing, and butterfly doors. This example is finished in Shadow Black with Lightning Blue stripes, a $10k option when new. The body has been wrapped in XPEL paint protection film.

Beneath carbon fiber body panels, the GT is built around a carbon fiber monocoque and features front and rear aluminum subframes that serve as active stress members for the hydraulically adjustable pushrod suspension. Standard features include variable ride height, selectable drive modes, front-axle lift, and launch control.

Staggered-width 20″ gloss carbon fiber wheels were a $15k option and are secured with titanium lug nuts. Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires measure 245/35 up front and 325/30 at the rear. Braking is handled by blue-finished, six-piston Brembo monoblock calipers over 15.5” carbon-ceramic discs up front, while four-piston rear calipers are paired with 14.1” rotors. The “Dark Energy” interior is trimmed in Ebony Alcantara and features Sparco-designed seats with manually adjustable carbon fiber shells, cloth inserts, and optional racing harness anchors. Exposed carbon fiber is visible on the doors, dashboard, floors, and center console. Amenities include an adjustable pedal box, tilting/telescoping steering column, air conditioning, and an infotainment system with a touchscreen.

An Alcantara-wrapped multifunction steering wheel is backed by paddle shifters and a digital instrument panel with multiple information settings. Just 214 miles are shown on the digital odometer.

The twin-turbocharged 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 features direct injection, dry-sump lubrication, and a carbon fiber engine cover. Factory-rated output is 647 horsepower and 550 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a Getrag seven-speed dual-clutch transaxle. The Carfax report shows registration with a single owner in California since new and lists no accidents or other damage. The lien from Ford Performance was released in September 2020.
