BaT Auction: 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe 6-Speed

This 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera coupe is finished in black over gray leather and powered by a 3.4-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle. Options include the Comfort and Technic packages in addition to Turbo-look wheels. The car was delivered new to Jim Ellis Porsche of Atlanta, Georgia, moved to Tennessee in 2017, and was recently acquired by the selling dealer with 102k miles. An oil change and inspection were performed in preparation for sale. This 996.1 C2 is offered in Illinois with owner’s books, service records, a Carfax report, and a clean Tennessee title.

The car features bi-xenon headlamp with washers as well as a motorized sunroof, stainless steel exhaust tips, smoked turn indicator lenses, and omission of a rear badge. A 2003 accident caused moderate damage to the left side according to the Carfax report, which also lists unspecified damage in 2018. The seller notes chips on the nose, a ding in the sunroof, and cracking on the rear bumper cover.

The cockpit is trimmed in Graphite Grey leather and vinyl over Comfort Package seats with power adjustment, adjustable lumbar support, and driver’s position memory. Gray carpets line the floors. Flaking is present on the center console and seat control panels.

Amenities consist of a hi-fi audio system with an in-dash CD player as well as cruise control and an adjustable steering column. The four-spoke steering wheel frames black gauges including a tachometer with a 7,200-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, and a digital odometer showing 102k miles.

The 3.4-liter M96 flat-six was rated at 300 horsepower with 258 lb-ft of torque when new. Documented service since 2014 included replacement of the water pump, thermostat, and drive belt at 86k miles as well as the shift cables, coolant expansion tank, and a fuel line at 89k.
