BaT Auction: 2000 Acura Integra Type R

This 2000 Acura Integra Type-R is number 1,147 of approximately 1,347 examples produced for the US market for the model year and was acquired by the current owner in 2017. The car is finished in Phoenix Yellow over black cloth and powered by a 1.8L VTEC inline-four paired with a factory close-ratio five-speed manual transaxle and limited-slip differential. Features include an aluminum radiator, an ACT clutch and flywheel, stainless steel brake lines, and aftermarket front lower control arm bushings along with a factory titanium-finished shift knob, an AM/FM/CD stereo, air conditioning, and Dark Silver-finished 15″x6″ alloy wheels. This DC2 Type R is being offered on behalf of the seller’s father with service records, a Carfax report, and a clean New Jersey title.

The Type R features restyled bodywork and a rear wing, and this example is finished in Phoenix Yellow (Y-56). The seller notes that the passenger-side rear quarter panel was repaired and the front bumper and mirrors were repainted under prior ownership. The Carfax report lists “moderate damage” to the front, right, left, rear, and roof of the car in July 2015. The seller reports that the damage was the result of a hail storm and was repaired by a paintless dent removal service. Refinished Dark Silver 15″x6″ wheels wear Acura center caps and are wrapped in 205/50 Dunlop Direzza DZ102 tires. Power-assisted steering, independent double-wishbone suspension, and four-wheel disc brakes came standard on the Integra Type R. The seller notes that stainless steel brake lines are fitted as well as aftermarket front lower control arm bushings.

The cabin features bolstered front seats and a split rear bench upholstered in black cloth with microsuede accents and red stitching. Equipment includes a titanium-finished shift knob, an adjustable steering column, an AM/FM/CD stereo, six speakers, air conditioning, replacement Type R logo floor mats, and power windows, mirrors, and locks.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 10k-rpm tachometer and a 150-mph speedometer. The six-digit mechanical odometer shows 142k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership.

The 1.8-liter B18C5 inline-four features dual overhead camshafts, sixteen valves, and VTEC variable valve timing. The engine was factory-rated at 195 horsepower and 130 lb-ft of torque. Power is delivered to the front wheels through a five-speed manual transaxle with a limited-slip differential. The seller notes that an ACT clutch and flywheel were installed in 2014 under previous ownership at approximately 135k miles.
