This 1996 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 is finished in Polar Silver over a black interior and equipped with a Porsche Exclusive front spoiler, rear wing, and side skirts. The car was sold new in Pennsylvania and resided in Georgia and Virginia before coming to the selling dealer who offered it on BaT in December 2018, where it was acquired by the current owner. Power is provided by a 3.6-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle, and modifications include Bilstein HD shocks, Porsche M033 springs, a Schnell strut tower brace. an FD Motorsports short-shift kit and Goldenrod, hard-back sport seats sourced from a 996, and a Porsche Classic head unit. This 993 shows 73k miles and is offered on dealer consignment in Oregon with a tool roll, a tire inflation kit, manufacturer’s literature, service records, a clean Carfax report, and a clean California title.
The car is finished in Polar Silver (L92M) and features a factory Porsche Exclusive front spoiler extension, rear wing, and side skirts. The headlights have been converted to HIDs, and LED bulbs have replaced the remaining exterior lighting. This example was ordered without a model designation on the rear decklid.
Optional hollow-spoke 18″ Turbo Twist wheels are finished in matte charcoal gray and wear colored Porsche crest center caps as well as Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. Bilstein HD shocks and Porsche M033 springs were fitted to all four corners, and Elephant Racing control arm bushings have been installed. The brake pads and rotors were replaced at 54k miles, and a kinematic alignment was completed in 2017.
Power-adjustable and heated hard-back sport seats from a 996 are trimmed in black and match the dash, door panels, and carpets, the latter of which are protected by Carrera-branded Lloyd floor mats. Amenities include electric windows, cruise control, an FD Motorsports short-shift kit and Goldenrod, a Porsche Classic single-DIN head unit with navigation, and an air conditioning system that was converted to use R134a refrigerant in July 2016.
A three-spoke steering wheel frames a central tachometer, a 200-mph speedometer, and an analog clock along with gauges for fuel level, oil level, temperature, and oil pressure. The six-digit odometer shows 73k miles, of which approximately 3k have been added by the current owner.
The 3.6-liter M64/23 flat-six has been fitted with 993 RS engine mounts, a 993 Turbo intake trumpet, dual Setrab oil coolers, and Eagle Day aluminum upper and lower valve covers. The twin-spark ignition system received a new belt, plugs, and wires at 63k miles, and the power steering belt was also replaced at that time. An oil and filter change was performed in preparation for the sale.
Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed G50/20 manual transaxle, which was fitted with Sachs clutch at 54k miles. The transmission gear oil was changed in 2018. Additional photos of the underside are shown in the gallery below.
