BaT Auction: 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS 396/325 Convertible

This 1967 Chevrolet Camaro RS/SS convertible is finished in Butternut Yellow over a black vinyl interior and powered by a replacement 396ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Factory equipment includes the Rally Sport and Interior Decor packages, a power-operated black soft top, 14″ Rallye wheels, a Positraction rear end, power steering, bucket seats with headrests, and a push-button AM radio. The car was reportedly refurbished during previous ownership and was acquired by the seller in 2013. Maintenance performed in the last two years included replacement of the fuel sender, power steering pump, spark plugs, and sway bar end links. This Camaro RS/SS convertible is now offered with factory literature, some service records, and a clean Oklahoma title in the seller’s name.

The body was reportedly repainted its original shade of Butternut Yellow (Y-2) during previous ownership and features black pinstripes. The Z22 Rally Sport package included concealed headlights with a specific grille, turn signals mounted within the front valance, and reverse lights under the rear bumper. Factory 14″ Rallye wheels with chrome trim rings wear BFGoodrich Silvertown radial redline tires that were mounted in 2013. The shocks were replaced during current ownership, and servicing in 2019 included replacement of the sway bar end links and front left control arm, as well as adjustment of the rear brakes.

Bucket seats with headrests are upholstered in black vinyl with white accents, and the interior features matching door panels and carpets. Amenities include a three-spoke woodgrain-look steering wheel and a push-button AM radio.

Factory instrumentation includes a 120-mph speedometer and a tachometer, as well as gauges for oil pressure, engine temperature, voltage, and fuel level mounted in the center console. The five-digit odometer shows just over 84k miles, approximately 500 of which have been added by the seller. True mileage is unknown.

The replacement 396ci Turbo-Jet V8 was factory-rated at 325 horsepower and is equipped with a chrome air cleaner housing and valve covers, as well as a stainless steel dual exhaust system. Maintenance in October 2019 included replacement of the fuel sender and spark plugs, while the power steering pump was replaced more recently per the seller.
