BaT Auction: 1965 Ford F-100 Custom Cab 4-Speed at No Reserve

This 1965 Ford F-100 is a Custom Cab pickup that was purchased new from Damerow Ford Co. in Beaverton, Oregon and is finished in Rangoon Red over a red cloth and vinyl interior. Power is provided by a 352ci V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a locking Dana 60 rear axle. A new water pump, ignition components, and rear brake drums were fitted in March 2020, and the selling dealer refinished the wheels, changed the transmission and rear end oil, and had the bench seat partially reupholstered in preparation for sale. This F-100 is offered at no reserve with a manual, its original owner ID card, dealer materials, and a clean Oregon title.

The exterior is said to have been repainted in its original Rangoon Red (J) under previous ownership, and the truck is equipped with Custom Cab trim as well as chrome front and rear bumpers. Rust bubbles are shown in the roof gutter, driver’s door, and passenger-side cab corner. The Ford letters on the tailgate were painted white by the selling dealer, and photos of the inside of the pickup box are provided in the gallery.

Factory 15″ steel wheels have also been refinished with Wimbledon White paint and silver Ford hubcaps. Hankook Optimo H824 whitewall tires show 2015 date codes, and the seller notes that a spare is included but not mounted in the factory location due to the presence of a receiver hitch. The rear brake drums were replaced in March 2020, and photos taken during the work are provided in the gallery.

The selling dealer has replaced the cloth portion of the full-width bench seat with new material from SMS Autofabrics, while stock vinyl with an embossed Ford logo is retained on the upper backrest. Splits are noted in the rubber floor mat along with waviness in the cardboard headliner.

A three-spoke steering wheel with a horn ring frames a horizontal-sweep 100-mph speedometer and a quartet of auxiliary gauges. Approximately 87k miles are shown on the five-digit odometer, 100 of which were added by the selling dealer. The truck is not equipped with a radio.

The 352ci FE V8 was fitted with a four-barrel Holley 600 carburetor under previous ownership, while a new water pump, spark plugs, and distributor cap/rotor were installed in March 2020. The selling dealer notes that the underhood areas were not repainted with the exterior. The air filter, breather filter, and valve cover gaskets were replaced in preparation for sale.

The truck is equipped with a single-outlet exhaust system. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission, and a locking 3.54:1 Dana Spicer 60 rear axle was equipped from the factory. The transmission and differential fluids were replaced in preparation for sale, and new Monro-Matic shocks were installed.
