BaT Auction: 18k-Mile 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider 6-Speed

This 2002 Ferrari 360 Spider is finished in silver with a blue soft top over black leather and is powered by a 3.6-liter V8 mated to a gated six-speed manual transaxle. Equipment includes red brake calipers, a titanium cat-back exhaust system, and a Challenge-style rear grille. The car spent time in Connecticut and New York before being purchased by the seller in September 2020 and relocated to Maryland. A belt and fluid service was performed in March 2020, along with replacement of the motor mounts and tires. This 360 Spider has 18k miles and is offered with a tool kit, manufacturer’s literature, a car cover, a wind deflector, service records, the removed grille, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Maryland title in the seller’s name.

The 360 Spider featured an aluminum body with styling by Pininfarina, and this example is finished in Argento Nurburgring (101) with a blue motorized soft top that can be seen raised and stowed beneath twin fairings in gallery photographs below. A mesh Challenge-style rear grille has been added, and a removable wind deflector is included in the sale. Blemishes include chips on the front bumper cover and lower bodywork as well as deteriorating stone guards on the wheel arches and side inlets.

Factory 18″ five-spoke wheels are fitted with prancing horse center and valve stem caps and wear Hankook Ventus V12 Evo2 tires showing 2016 and 2017 date codes. Red brake calipers are paired with cross-drilled and vented rotors at all four corners. The brake fluid was changed in March 2021.

Black leather extends over the dash, door panels, and manually-adjustable seats with prancing horses embossed on the headrests. Equipment includes automatic climate control, power windows, a gated shifter, drilled aluminum pedal covers, and a six-disc CD changer.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a tachometer with an 8,500-rpm redline, a 220-mph speedometer, and auxiliary gauges. The digital odometer shows 18k miles, 400 of which were added by the seller.

The 3.6-liter Tipo F131 V8 is housed under a glass engine cover and features dry-sump lubrication, a flat-plane crankshaft, titanium connecting rods, and quad camshafts with four valves per cylinder. Factory-rated output was 395 horsepower and 275 lb-ft of torque. A belt service was performed in March 2020, and the engine mounts, driveline fluids, coolant, engine and cabin air filters, and gas cap were replaced at that time.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a six-speed manual transaxle. A titanium cat-back exhaust system was installed under previous ownership, and additional pictures of the underbody can be viewed in the gallery below.

The Carfax report shows no accidents or other damage and lists history in Connecticut, New York, and Maryland.
